Goodbye
We are finally getting some nice weather. I hope some of you also got some rain last week. Maybe if there are any green leaves left on your trees they might turn into
a beautiful picture like above.
This is my last newsletter as President of our Club. I have enjoyed the year and am glad to have had some traditions returned and some new ones started.
We had an installation/awards dinner, we have a Sheriff, we had a Christmas Party, we improved on our jokes and brags, we had raffles for our Administrative Account, we increased our membership, we donated books for new born babies at Baylor Medical Center of Garland, we had a school supplies drive, we volunteered at the healthy Living Expo, our project members have quarterly meetings, we had an Ice Cream Social, and other stuff that would take too long to mention, But most important. A Governor from our own Club.
In all of this I was very fortunate to have had members who were willing to step up and be part of the team.
?Serving the Children of the World? was why I joined this organization and I will continue to serve in any capacity that I can.
Teamwork: Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.
Thanks for making this a Great Year for me!
September - month in review
September was a busy month for all of us. We started off with Hamp leading us in
our Labor Day Pancake Breakfast. And what an awesome job he did. He challenged us to get more ads and we responded. According to our treasurer we should clear around $5,000.00, more than we have made for awhile.
Dignitaries as usual always make our event.
Jesse Hargrove takes part in his first Labor Day Hargrove Tradition. My daughter Norma and her boys Clayton and Robert.
On the 8th we had our Project Members meeting at JB-Kabobs. We had presentations from the different sponsors of our youth clubs. Key Club Presidents from Garland, Sachse and North Garland also spoke on their clubs.
Don made a presentation on K-Kids in Kimberlain and Shorehaven.
Dwayne also spoke on his group at Shorehaven. The club voted to provide
$300 for T-Shirts for his kids.
Good Job Don, Brad and Dwayne!!
Next event was our Division Council end of the year dinner. It was a lot of fun.
Nila, Susan, Lorrie, Manuel and Myself attended.
Susan takes time to push her Governor?s agenda to David Ross.
Nila always ready to lend a hand.
Kiwanis Volunteers were very visible at theHealthy Living Expo last Saturday the 24th.
Lorrie, Ruth Ann, and Betty managed the Multicultural Booth.
Rose Young helped to check in volunteers. Jo Garcia, checked in the vendors. I just walked around making sure everyone had whatever they needed at their booths. If anyone was lost I found someone who knew where they needed to go. This was a lot of fun and got to visit with a lot of people.
